Sephano Prime - Debriefing

This is the results of Team Aquilla’s mission to Sephano Prime. This is merely a summary, all requests for more details must be made to Throne Agent John McCain or Inquisitor Pellaeon.

Four members of Team Aquilla (Decimus Modius Macer, Cypher Quintos, Jaghatia, Khan) departed to Sephano Prime on 4216736.M41, arriving on 527436.M41 without incident. They traveled aboard the Chimaera, part of Task Force Hammer, which remained in orbit above Sephano Prime when Team Aquilla went planetside. Team Aquilla was greeted by the Adeptus Arbites, specifically Marshall Hawk, who brought the team up to speed on the rebellion. Afterwards Hawk asked the team to help in a raid on a base of known rebels in the city of Troy. In the time before the mission several of the team interrogated members of the rebellion who had been captured and were being held by the Arbites. Cypher was able to detect that the prisoners body held the taint of warp energies, however they could get no information from the prisoner. The raid was carried out the next day and all rebel forces at the location were exterminated. The raid was not without losses, however, as eight arbites were slain. This was mainly due to the unexpected presence of a psyker, who was able to kill five of the arbites single handedly. Upon inspection of the bodies, it was discovered that the psyker was Lieutenant Michael Darren. Lieutenant Darren was one of the special forces team members accompanying Venris Merlovon Operation Powerfist. He had not previously had psyker powers and was also the first psyker associated with the rebels. Despite the rebels efforts to destroy all intel at the location, a single badly damaged data-slate was recovered. Upon returning to the Arbites Fortress, they found Acolyte Castus, who had been reassigned to Team Aquilla and sent to Sephano Prime on 4220736.M41. Khan was able to decrypt an incomplete message from the damaged data-slate, which contained orders for Lieutenant Darren and his rebel group to meet a submersible in Troy. After efforts to discover exactly which of the thousands of submersibles he was scheduled to meet, Cypher was able to pinpoint the rebel vessel. Team Aquilla, as well as a small detachment of arbites, raided the submersible and killed all aboard after a vicious battle. Once again, a psyker was found and eliminated after intense combat, leading to several of Team Aquilla’s members to be mortally wounded, including Acolyte Jag and his panther, Ghost. However, both were saved by their fellow team members and perhaps the power of the Emperor. During the battle, a lesser daemon appeared and attacked the psyker, before disappearing shortly thereafter. It is unknown why this happened. Twelve of the arbites were slain before reinforcements arrived. Among the reinforcements was Acolyte Barak, who had just arrived on planet, after having departed from Scintilla on 4225736.M41. Upon a search of the vessel, the captains quarters yielded several interesting documents. The primary among these was the orders to Specialist Logan Hermi, another member of the SF team sent on Operation Powerfist. The orders detailed that Specialist Hermi was to wait for the arrival of Lieutenant Darren’s team and then rendezvous the submersible with the Defient, a military submersible which had gone missing some months before. After rendezvousing with the Defient, they were to travel to Isla Nublar and meet Venris Merlov. The location of both Isla Nublar and the Defiant were not given. After DNA tests, as the head had been ruined beyond recognition, it was confirmed that the psyker aboard the vessel had been Specialist Hermi, a man who did not have an affinity for the warp before Operation Powerfist. While the intel found was revealing, it led to no new trail and Team Aquilla returned to the Arbites Fortress. Here they found Commander Osiris Rigel, the head of the Fenryle Guard. He requested Team Aquilla’s assistance in saving the members of Venom. Venom was a top secret group tasked to infiltrate the rebellion. While only ten people even know about Venom, Commander Rigel felt it might be compromised by the fact that Decimus Blue, one of the operatives from Venom, was amongst the group of rebels slain by Team Aquilla in their original raid. However, Governor Grievous had also requested an audience at his Steel Palace. The acolytes headed to the Steel Palace with Commander Rigel. Governor Grievous greeted the Acolytes and told them of his expedition to view many of the underwater mining complexes. His first visit will take him to a complex which was bombed just over a day ago. Intreged by the opportunity to find another lead, Team Aquilla agrees to accompany the Governor on at least the first leg of his journey. Team Aquilla joined Governor Grievous in his Aquilla Lighter and along with their escort, took off for Troy’s docks and the Governor’s submersible. Thirty minutes into the flight, however, they came under assault by a submersible. The Valkyrie and one of the Lightning Strike Fighters were destroyed in short order. In the jarring assault, the team also noticed a demo charge located behind an access panel. While Khan was able to disable the explosive, the Aquilla was badly damaged by a shot from the submersible, and forced to crash land on a nearby island. The remaining Lightning was destroyed shortly thereafter. After extricating themselves from the downed Aquilla, the team was promptly attacked by a team of snipers. After slaying the snipers, Cypher confirmed that they had the same warp taint that the other rebels had possessed.
