Sephano Prime - The Rebellion

The Sephano Prime rebellion began in 732.M41, shortly after the planets tithe was raised significantly. Within six months, numerous underwater mining stations had been bombed. While a severe nuisance, these acts did little real damage to either the stations or the personel abourd them. Regardless, these were acts of treason and the rebels quickly became the top priority of both the Fenryle Guard and the Adeptus Arbites. Acting on information recovered from one of these bombings, Commander Venris Merlov launched Operation Powerfist on 5345733.M41. While the exact happenings of the operation are unknown, Commander Merlov and his team were not found. This has been seen as the turning point in the rebellion, as the rebels have become more bold, sinking submersibles, flooding entire mining complexes and destroying shipments of metal ore. While the Arbites have stepped up raids and improved security on the mining facilities, the Fenryle Guard have proven to be of less use. Mass defections of troops and officers have made it difficult to know friend from foe. Numerous armouries and vehicle depots have been raided by the very units ordered to guard them. In addition to the thousands of autoguns and flak armour sets stolen, the Fenryle Guard also reports that three Leman Russ’, six Rhinos, and seventeen Sentinels have been reported missing. The Defient, a Shark Class submersible also failed to report four months ago and has not been found wrecked or otherwise.

Collecting information on the rebels has proved to be extremely difficult. While dozens of rebels have been taken alive, they are extrordinarily resilient to all forms of interogation. While they only seldom use cogitators or data-slates they tend to use heavy encryption.
